One of the foremost features of egoistic political philosophy is that it acknowledges rights as nothing but a 'spook', human rights are really nothing but words on a piece of paper. Governments around the world routinely disregard generally agreed upon principles as a matter of course. Some have argued that it is impossible for governments to fully respect criminals rights as a matter of course in their daily conduct, this may very well be true, but there is also very little political profit in doing so. In any event, human rights are a silly concept, what do I have a right to? An education? Provision from want and need? Spiritual direction? Are there any limits to entitlements? A right to property? As far as property is concerned, contrary to libertarian myths, the is no natural right to property. Physical possession of property is meaningless unless you have the physical or spiritual might to defend it, property cannot exist without the state that the libertarians despise so much. The universal human declaration of human rights is a noble sounding document, but as it should be noted: These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations. – UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 29(3). For those who are intellectually dull, that statement could be interpreted as meaning the UN is now the sole arbiter of rights(or as a prelude to world government?), in other words we have a right to be told what to do. Moral philosophy has not really advanced that far, there are no easy answers, (which rights purport to be) and contrary to the fantasies and delusions of many Christians, liberals, socialists and other groups, politics is with us for good. The lamb is not going to lie down with the lion anytime soon.
